This is how it all started As a child, my overriding ambition was to have a dog of my own and despite opposition from my parents I got my first dog, a black Scottie bitch puppy, Torslochs Terzette, in 1970. She was a lucky purchase and became the start of a 40-year old love affair with the breed. Since then I have also been involved in other breeds and I also currently show and breed Labradors. Over the years I have had strong British connections which have influenced me greatly.
I started showing in 1970 and have been a keen exhibitor ever since, latterly cutting down on showing as judging has taken over much of my time. Most of my dogs have been owner bred and handled and I have bred more than 130 champions including Sweden’s Top Dog All Breeds in 2001. Raglan dogs have also won Top Terrier no less than seven times in Sweden and the lovely bitch Ch Raglan Rose Maiden won Top Terrier in the UK in 2003 and res BIS at Crufts in 2004.
I am now approved to judge all breeds and have been fortunate to judge wonderful shows all over the world including ten FCI World shows, many FCI European shows, Sydney Royal Show and Spring Fair Shows in Australia, Scottish Terriers at Crufts, the wonderful Great Western Show in California plus several prestigious BIS appointments worldwide as well as many breed specialities in most parts of the world. I have also been honoured with other major appointments in the UK, including all groups and BIS at Windsor in 2008.
Most things in my life seem to circle around dogs. I have found that the dog game is such an absorbing hobby that one rarely has time for other things! However, I do enjoy reading ,meeting friends, gardening and going to the movies, time permitting. I also teach English and French at college – a job I have held on to for a long time and which I still enjoy, although I do not always find it easy to turn up on Monday mornings after a busy weekend away!
